D. 20 november 2017 - i dag for præcis ét år siden. 👊💫💚🥰#brydtabuet #stomi #cu #colitisulcerosa #imbetternow #ostomy #whatbag #healthyasfuck #toughgirl #keeponfighting #colitiswarrior #colitisawareness #battlescars #ilovethenewme #lifesaver #iammyownhero #feelingstronger #lovelife #lovemyfamily #lovemyfriends

Check up with my colorectal team went well this morning. They’re happy with how I’m doing, my rectal vaginal fistula (RVF) hasn’t got any worse since they seen things last and it hasn’t got any better. I know that’s not really great news but I’d rather it stay the same then get worse. I’ve been on the new biological vedolizumab a year now, it’s been brought forward to having it every 4 weeks instead of the usual 8. Then they will re do a lower pelvic MRI in January to see how things are doing, If things are still the same they may switch me to Stelara. they are holding off on the barbie bum surgery for now as things are ok and as I’m such a complicated case I may need plastic surgery down below, I think they mentioned flap surgery as they have to go in far so they get the fistula track all out as they want to make sure the wound would heal up ok. Other wise it wouldn’t heal properly so I’d need a lot of work done. All in all it was a good check up and they’re happy with how I am doing. So once they’re happy then so am I. #crohnicallyawesome #ostomyfashion #notalldisabilitiesarevisible #ibdawareness #crohnsdisease #ostomate #spoonielife #ileostomyawareness #ileostomylife #crohnicillness #whatbag #bagforlife #babeswithbags #stoppoobeingtaboo #ulcerativecolitis #ibdlife #spoonie #ostomy #stomalife #getyourbellyout #ibdsuperheroes #sepsissurviour #endthestigma #sickbutinvisble #wearwhatmakesyoufeelgood #therealityofacrohnicillness #bodyconfidence #loveyourself

Im up bright and early for my Hospital appointment this morning to see my colorectal team. I’ve not seen them since the beginning of the year, so kind of anxious to hear what they say. #ootd is a black dress with pink flowers, I love how it flares out at the bottom so it’s not stuck to my waist near my bag. It’s really old stock from @primark, I’ve teamed it with tan tights and black ankle boots from @primark. I hope you all have a good Monday😊 #crohnicallyawesome #ostomyfashion #notalldisabilitiesarevisible #ibdawareness #crohnsdisease #ostomate #spoonielife #ileostomyawareness #ileostomylife #crohnicillness #whatbag #bagforlife #babeswithbags #stoppoobeingtaboo #ulcerativecolitis #ibdlife #spoonie #ostomy #stomalife #getyourbellyout #ibdsuperheroes #sepsissurviour #endthestigma #sickbutinvisble #wearwhatmakesyoufeelgood #therealityofacrohnicillness #bodyconfidence #loveyourself

Left photo is a few months ago and the Photo on the right is me today with the dreaded pred moon face. I know it may not look like much to some, but I notice the change in my face. I’ve been on them 5 weeks now and I’ve 3 weeks left before I finish them. I hate them so much, my face has got so round, my skin has broke out yet again, heart is racing and my temperate is up and down like I’m sitting on a fire. I know I was put on them to help me, but I hate looking in the mirror and seeing this round face staring back at me. I know I won’t be on them much longer and my face will slim back down, But I can’t help feel down about it. I know I’m not the only one who’s been on the dreaded pred and felt this way on them. They do play with your emotions too which doesn’t help. My partner told me I still look beautiful to him and always will and that I won’t be on them forever. So lucky to have him and hearing that is just what I need when I feel down. I need to learn that this moon face is only temporary and that I’m doing a lot better than I was two months ago. #prednisone #moonface #crohnicallyawesome #ostomyfashion #notalldisabilitiesarevisible #ibdawareness #crohnsdisease #ostomate #spoonielife #ileostomyawareness #ileostomylife #crohnicillness #whatbag #bagforlife #babeswithbags #stoppoobeingtaboo #ulcerativecolitis #ibdlife #spoonie #ostomy #stomalife #getyourbellyout #ibdsuperheroes #sepsissurviour #endthestigma #sickbutinvisble #wearwhatmakesyoufeelgood #therealityofacrohnicillness #bodyconfidence #loveyourself

7 years ago vs today. Looking back then to how I am now is strange, I was younger for a start😂, I was single, I was working and had no stoma. Now I’m in a relationship, I’m older lol, I’ve my stoma and happy for it, but not working, and that’s fine, I will do things in my own time and when my body is able to. Right now I’ve to listen to it and take care of myself. As the saying goes your health is your wealth. life has had it’s ups and downs, good and bad days, days where I thought I wouldn’t make it through as I was so tired and drained from things both mentally and physically. But I think all of this has made me the woman I am today, I’m a lot stronger, confident, positive and happier than I was. Life has got better for me despite all that’s happened and I can’t wait to see what the next 7 years has in store. #throwbackthursday #crohnicallyawesome #ostomyfashion #notalldisabilitiesarevisible #ibdawareness #crohnsdisease #ostomate #spoonielife #ileostomyawareness #ileostomylife #crohnicillness #whatbag #bagforlife #babeswithbags #stoppoobeingtaboo #ulcerativecolitis #ibdlife #spoonie #ostomy #stomalife #sepsissurviour #endthestigma #sickbutinvisble #wearwhatmakesyoufeelgood #therealityofacrohnicillness #bodyconfidence #loveyourself

📍La Tania - France 🇫🇷 ———————————————— Whilst I am heading back to La Tania in a few weeks, I can’t help but look back to 2016. Does this look like a person who had major life saving surgery 2 months and 7 days before the 1st picture was taken? Does it even look like the same person in both photos? ———————————————— The human body can do incredible things, looking at the second photograph taken of me a few days after my surgery still shocks me now. I lost over 3 stone whilst I was in hospital for 4 weeks. My muscle had completely disappeared. When I got out of hospital, walking upstairs was difficult, even sleeping was painful, my bones aches when I slept, I had so many pillows to help that I was pretty much sleeping in a sat up position. ———————————————— Life can give you some hard challenges, which before happen you wouldn’t believe that you could get through it. But you do and are way stronger than you ever expected. ———————————————— #latania #strongwoman #mountainsarecalling #snowboardinstructor #strongissexy #travellingileostomy #myileostomyworld #travelblogger #traveller #stomaawareness #notallwhowanderarelost #lovetotravel #girlswhotravel #travelphotography #herethereandanywhere #beautifulplaces #chronicallytravelling #itsoknottobeok #makememories #ileostomyawareness #ulcerativecolitis #invisibleillness #girlsvsglobe #wanderlust #livingmybestlife #culturetrip #baglady #thisisme #chronicallymotivated #whatbag

It’s that time of year when stress begins to mount as we rush around to prepare for holiday celebrations. Amidst all of the hustle and bustle, take a moment to think about what you are thankful for. I am thankful for more than I could list here but a few things at the top of my list would be: 1) I am thankful to be alive to enjoy the holidays with my family and friends 2) I am thankful to God for giving me the strength to make it through this year 3) I am incredibly thankful for the new friends I’ve made along the way through my cancer and ostomy support groups 4) I am thankful for all of my true friends who have been by my side no matter how busy their own lives may have been. You know who you are and from the bottom of my heart, thank you! 5) Most of all I am thankful to my precious daughter - she has been my rock. She has been with me every second through this unbelievably difficult year; without her I don’t know that I would have made it. So that’s the start of my list and I plan to keep my gratitude in mind as I join the rush and crush of holiday shopping, gift buying and cooking all of my family’s traditional favorites! While food and gift giving are what these holiday gatherings center around, don’t forget that God’s gifts of love, gratitude and forgiveness are the real reasons behind these celebrations. Live a gracious life and you will be immersed in God’s blessings both big and small! #glorytogod #godsblessingseveryday #reasonfortheseason #cancer #beafighter #fightcrc #cancersurvivor #coloncancer #beatcancer #livingwithcancer #cancerfortheholidays #thanksgivingwithcancer #ostomate #ostomyawareness #ostomyadvocate #colostomyawareness #whatbag #invisibleillness #nationofallies #embracelife #grateful #happydays #everyoneisdifferent #loveyourself #noshameostomy

Reading this it felt like it was wrote for me, I love this article worth a read @themightysite “If I’m having a good day and I want to document it through pictures and post it, I’m instantly looked at as a faker. Because how can someone have that much pain and still go out and have fun? If I’m undergoing a surgery, etc.,and I post a picture asking for positive thoughts, I’m looked at as an attention-seeker. How is that fair? All you’re seeing is a Facebook post. You don’t see me the 99 percent of the time. You don’t see me with bags under my eyes from the lack of sleep I’ve gotten. You don’t see me clinging to my stomach at 2:00 in the morning repeating over and over “please stop the pain, please stop it.” You don’t see me, you don’t know all I go through. Just because you can’t see my actual illness does not mean it’s not real. Because it is.” https://themighty.com/2017/09/endometriosis-not-apologizing-for-good-days/ #crohnicallyawesome #ostomyfashion #notalldisabilitiesarevisible #ibdawareness #crohnsdisease #ostomate #spoonielife #ileostomyawareness #ileostomylife #crohnicillness #whatbag #bagforlife #babeswithbags #stoppoobeingtaboo #ulcerativecolitis #ibdlife #spoonie #ostomy #stomalife #getyourbellyout #ibdsuperheroes #sepsissurviour #endthestigma #sickbutinvisble #wearwhatmakesyoufeelgood #therealityofacrohnicillness #bodyconfidence #loveyourself

Get up. Get dressed.✅ How I try to fight fatigue: (to be continued) I used to hate being told 'Get up, have a shower, get dressed and you'll feel better ' ...fuck do you know how much effort that takes, not to mention pain and will certainly not make me better. BUT now I'm living a pretty 'normal' life I can see where they were coming from. I live in gym wear or sweat pants, but find getting dressed in a way that makes me feel like me actually gives me a bit more energy - life. So, yeah having a shower and changing into something that makes you feel good is worth a try if you can 👊

📍Sofia - Bulgaria 🇧🇬 —————————————————————— Present vs Past —————————————————————— Bulgaria was a long, long weekend at the very end of September this year. I was happy and healthy and had absolutely nothing to worry about whilst I was away. My bag never leaked, no stomach ache, no blockages. I enjoyed meals out, cocktails. We went on a walking tour and a food tour. We went to the Military Museum as seen in the image. Never did I get held back at all ———————————————————————— Now swipe ➡️ ———————————————————————— This was me at the end of October 2015, after having life saving surgery. I had lost so much weight that even these images are a shock to myself. Underneath the red plastic bag is a source of nutrition that I was been fed via, my stoma wasn’t yet working correctly, so I couldn’t eat. ———————————————————————— I had a tube up my nose and down my throat into my stomach. I had been allowed to eat when I shouldn’t. So I had to have my stomach aspirated every few hours. I struggled to sleep as I had lost so much weight that my bones literally hurt. My skin was dry, I hadn’t been able to have a real shower from my dressing and wounds. My hair was greasy, for the whole time I was in hospital I did my best to keep as clean as I could. But always felt dirty. The nurses where amazing. And my family and friends visited me every day. The road to recovery had started, and so far it was pretty hard.———————————————————————— But my smile still stays on - Queen ———————————————————————— Sometimes you have to look to the past to see how far you have come. I am a very happy and healthy 29 year old now, and my life couldn’t be any better. —————————————————————— #pastvspresent #looktothefuture #leavethepastbehindyou #sofiabulgaria #travellingileostomy #travellingstoma #travelblogger #traveller #stomaawareness #notallwhowanderarelost #lovetotravel #girlswhotravel #travelphotography #herethereandanywhere #beautifulplaces #chronicallytravelling #itsoknottobeok #makememories #ileostomyawareness #ulcerativecolitis #invisibleillness #girlsvsglobe #wanderlust #livingmybestlife #culturetrip #baglady #thisisme #chronicallymotivated #whatbag

Looking at this First photo does make me sad. I miss my scar and bag free tummy and I know It won’t look like that anymore. But I know I’ve been through so much and last night my partner did remind me that my bag and op saved my life. If I didn’t have that I wouldn’t be here, I wouldn’t be able to go out and do things. I know some days we all get down about how things used to be. But I’m forever grateful for my gastro and colorectal team for saving my life. I know I still have had a few bumps this year being a tough one and down the line my bag will be made permanent. But I know with all the love and support of family, friends and my partner I can get through it. Having my bag has given me a second chance at life, yes my tummy may not look perfect but I’m proud of my scars. #crohnicallyawesome #ostomyfashion #notalldisabilitiesarevisible #ibdawareness #crohnsdisease #ostomate #spoonielife #ileostomyawareness #ileostomylife #crohnicillness #whatbag #bagforlife #babeswithbags #stoppoobeingtaboo #ulcerativecolitis #ibdlife #spoonie #ostomy #stomalife #getyourbellyout #ibdsuperheroes #sepsissurviour #endthestigma #sickbutinvisble #wearwhatmakesyoufeelgood #therealityofacrohnicillness #aeriereal #bodyconfidence #loveyourself

@Regran_ed from @lisakateostomate - Life for someone with IBD like myself isn’t just about how it effects you physically. The mental side to it and how it can effect you on a day to day basis plays a big roll to so many of us. Some like me may not be able to work or go out and do everyday things and that can get me down I won’t lie. I miss being able to do stuff but my body is so important and when I need to rest I’ve to listen to it and not push myself or feel bad for things out of my control, the trauma of having surgeries and so many hospital admissions and check ups can get on top of you. It really isn’t easy and I find having this page and sharing my journey with you all therapeutic in some way. I’m not ashamed to say I do suffer badly with anxiety and panic attack’s I think it steamed from the beginning of my illness at such a young age and the fear of hospitals and just being sick. It’s hard to explain to someone who doesn’t have this illness how you feel or what’s going on. I vent here as it helps me, but I have my family, fellow ibd sufferers and my partner who also has got crohns too, that support network for me means more to me than anything in this whole world. Remember you’re never alone in this journey, whether you’re only newly diagnosed or someone who has this illness years. We all need someone to be there for us and someone we can open up to. As always my inbox is always open to anyone who ever needs to talk about anything IBD, ostomy or fistula related. I know I’m not a doctor but I can offer advice how things are for me and how I’ve dealt with it all. #crohnicallyawesome #ostomyfashion #notalldisabilitiesarevisible #ibdawareness #crohnsdisease #ostomate #spoonielife #ileostomyawareness #ileostomylife #crohnicillness #whatbag #bagforlife #babeswithbags #stoppoobeingtaboo #ulcerativecolitis #ibdlife #spoonie #ostomy #stomalife #getyourbellyout #ibdsuperheroes #sepsissurviour #endthestigma #sickbutinvisble #wearwhatmakesyoufeelgood #therealityofacrohnicillness ##bodyconfidence #loveyourself

I haven’t been as active on here but recently, I started taking Benadryl whenever I felt like the area around my stoma would get super itchy. I have found that this is a lifesaver. On the downside, it knocks me out until 8 in the morning but hey, I get a goodnight of sleep. And another awesome thing is that my hair is feeling more fuller. And I can now make a small ponytail that actually feels like I have a full head of hair. #ileostomy #ileostomybag #ileostomylife #ileostomyawareness #ileostomygirl #lifeafterileostomy #nocolon #nocolonstillrollin #whatbag

#aboutlastnight, first time out in about a month, Date night with my man. Have to say I had an amazing night and felt great to get dressed up, it’s been a busy and exhausting few weeks with hospital stays and visits every week. But I felt “normal” for once and went out for a meal and forgot about all that for a few hours. I’ve been so fortunate to collaborate with the most awesome company @vanillablush that creates beautiful and supportive underwear/lingerie for people that have an ostomy bag it sits perfectly over my bag, and bonus it makes me feel very beautiful which sometimes can be hard with a bag. #stoma #whatbag #whatostomateswear #ostomylife #colitis #stomi #lifeasanostomate #fighter #feelingbeautiful #vanillablush #supportive #dagensbillede #colitiswarrior #photooftheday #makeachange #whatsnormal #livetsomsyg #scarsarebeautiful #spreadawareness #kronisksyg #brydtabuet #stomiliv #ileostomi #ostomyfashion #follow #inspirational #keepyourheadup #spreadjoy #ileostomia #ileostomyawareness

I know it’s been a while since I posted my #ootd still weak and wobbly but getting stronger each day. Home 2 weeks from hospital today, so I’m back off out to the hospital for blood tests and a check up as my levels of MG are still low so my team want to see me. Dress is a few years old from @primark black knee boots are @riverisland and worn with tan tights to keep warm. #crohnicallyawesome #ostomyfashion #notalldisabilitiesarevisible #ibdawareness #crohnsdisease #ostomate #spoonielife #ileostomyawareness #ileostomylife #crohnicillness #whatbag #bagforlife #babeswithbags #stoppoobeingtaboo #ulcerativecolitis #ibdlife #spoonie #ostomy #stomalife #getyourbellyout #ibdsuperheroes #sepsissurviour #endthestigma #sickbutinvisble #wearwhatmakesyoufeelgood #therealityofacrohnicillness #bodyconfidence #loveyourself

I am so happy to find my dream bikini and it's Stoma friendly. Thanks a million @dangerfieldclothing for creating such a stunning bikini that an ostomate like me can confidently wear. Your attitude and vibes will rub off on those around you. Practice mindfulness every day. Practice forgiveness every day. Even if that person you have to forgive is yourself. We are only human, yet look at what the human body can do! Human resilience is breathtaking and inspiring - you all inspire and motivate me to be better every moment of every day. Thank you, all, for being in my tribe. I love you ❤️ . We spend a lot of time thinking. I mean, pretty much all the time, so it makes sense that how we choose to think about our experiences could have a huge impact on who we are. • Overall, I've consistently worked to choose to think about my ostomy from a positive perspective. Note that I said "I've consistently worked", because it IS work to break a pattern of negative thinking and retrain your brain to focus on the positives. This doesn't mean I don't ever have "why me?" thoughts or "I wish I had a normal, functioning colon" thoughts. It just means that I let those thoughts float on by and work hard to redirect myself to think about the positives instead of continuing to dwell on or sink into a spiral of negativity about having an ostomy. • The facts are my ostomy is for life and I embrace the belief that how I proceed with my life is up to me. I choose to live it to the fullest and appreciate the little things, regardless of my circumstances because I don't just want to survive in life, I want to thrive.  I have bad days and sad moments, but the more I focus on shifting back to a positive state of mind, the shorter time those moments last. New experiences,  fulfilling friendships, lots of laughs, travel, snuggles with my husband and dog, yummy food, engaging conversations,  continual growth and education, positive vibes... These are the things I strive to fill my life with and I am so thankful none of these things are limited by having an ostomy. • Ps. This is my thinking face.  I think touching my nose gives me super thinking powers. • Pps. Do you have any tips for helping negative thoughts move along more quickly? Or turning that frown upside down? Do you practice reframing your thoughts?

I have to share this amazing and honest post from the fantastic @bagladymama, she is a brilliant advocate for ostomates and IBDers. She says it like it is and I love that about her. If you’re not already following her account as I promise you won’t be disappointed. I’m really glad she posted this as lately I’ve been struggling with my life choices. I have to put myself first which means having to cut people out of my life over the years who don’t understand what life for someone like us is like. Then I over think things and feel bad, I’m such a people pleaser and worry ive upset or let people down. I want to make people happy and I know deep down I’m a good, daughter, friend, partner, sister, aunt godmother. The people who know what I’ve been through know the real me and how hard things have been and wouldn’t judge me. I need to be a new me and learn that it’s ok to do things for myself, because it’s not good to be stressing out and worrying all the time it’s not healthy. So thank you to the wonderful Crystal for writing this. Anyone else feel the same way comment below. #crohnicallyawesome #ostomyfashion #notalldisabilitiesarevisible #ibdawareness #crohnsdisease #ostomate #spoonielife #ileostomyawareness #ileostomylife #crohnicillness #whatbag #bagforlife #babeswithbags #stoppoobeingtaboo #ulcerativecolitis #ibdlife #spoonie #ostomy #stomalife #getyourbellyout #ibdsuperheroes #sepsissurviour #endthestigma #sickbutinvisble #wearwhatmakesyoufeelgood #therealityofacrohnicillness #bodyconfidence #loveyourself

It's Saturday! I'm in a great mood! 🌞 The sun is beaming today and we have a beautiful blue sky and I'm going to spend the afternoon in Copenhagen with my beautiful friend @astrid_og_lidt_til 😄😄😄 💞 time for a lovely catch up, a trip on the canal, food, drink, laughs and who knows, all I know is that we are celebrating (a bit delayed) both our birthdays! 🎉 And in the meantime here is some picture evidence of me trying to get an OK picture of myself, getting mega bored and then just being overly silly cos it's more fun and makes time pass while I'm waiting to get on the train! 😄😄 I hope you all have a great Saturday! 😙😙😙 ~ #lifeocharlotte #ulcerousecolitis #invisibleillness #bagwhatbag #whatbag #nocolonstillrollin #ileostomy #ibdfighter #ostomyawareness #ostomybag #ostomylife #ostamate #crohnsandcolitis #colitis #ibdsuperheroes #ibdwarrior #ironwoman #happy #lovelife #excited #fighter #ostomates #ostamate #strongwomen #stoma #sillyselfie #sillyme #colourful #stomalife #girlswithstomas

This morning I got to go swimming for the first time since getting a stoma. I still put on my bathers that I wore before operation with no issue. No one even knew any different I even forgot I had a bag. My Halloween costume from a few years ago. Huge fan of the movie grease, so I went as the “bad/rebel Sandy”. This year I’m home in my pjs resting up with a blanket and saved some of the sweets for the kids for myself 😂😂don’t want them too hyper for their parents so I’m really helping them haha. The New Face of Colorectal Cancer I was 44 years old when I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Rectal Cancer. No spring chicken by some standards, but certainly not ready for the old folks home. Colorectal cancer as "Grampa's illness" is a myth. The standard for colonoscopy screening was updated just months after my diagnosis from age 50 to age 45, but based on the population of the colorectal cancer support groups I'm a part of, I think it should be even lower. People are being diagnosed with colorectal cancer at alarmingly young ages, and not just a few. More and more frequently I see people in their early 30's signing on as members to the colorectal cancer support pages. For those 45 and over, it is more important than ever that we are vigilant about colorectal cancer screening. For those under 45, if you have symptoms of colorectal cancer, demand that your doctor screen you for the disease. It could save your life. #cancer #fightcancer #fightcrc #cancersurvivor #coloncancer #beatcancer #endcancer #ostomylife #stoma #ostomy #ostomybag #colostomy #ostomate #ostomyawareness #ostomyadvocate #colostomybag #colostomyawareness #colostomyadvocate #knowledgeispower #uoaa #whatbag #invisibleillness #nationofallies #embracingit #grateful #happydays #everyoneisdifferent #loveyourself #noshameostomy

Life for someone with IBD like myself isn’t just about how it effects you physically.

The cool thing with high waist pants is that you can be completely at ease for your everyday life 🙆‍♀️ At first, I was afraid to put clothes over my ostomy; I tried and tried the possibilities, until I fell on #thatone 🤩 It might not be the best solution for everyone, but I consider it just perfect for me! The best way to feel comfortable with an ostomy is to consider every alternatives 🙌😉 #highwaistpants #confy #ileostomy #whatbag #nocolonstillrollin #livelifefully #fallvibes 🍂

The two photos on the right were taken just 24 hours apart (2 1/2 weeks ago) and the one on the left is me today. Bruised all over from cannulas and blood tests and the shots they give you in your tummy to stop blood clots. I was 60kg going in and two weeks in there I came out 58kg so glad I didn’t lose too much as I was vomiting and off my food for a week. Im home nearly a week from hospital, not doing too bad. Ache all over, Still tired and catching up on my sleep, as we all know how little we get when we’re in there, from staff coming into you early for OBs or meds’, beeping of machines or awake in pain. Im on a 6 week course of pred, happy days 🤣🤣and ive hospital appointments up until mid December😒😒. I’ll be glad when this year is over as it’s been a rough one. But glad I had my parents and my partner there to hold my hand. Just hope the last two months of the year are a lot better and can end on a high note. #crohnicallyawesome #ostomyfashion #notalldisabilitiesarevisible #ibdawareness #crohnsdisease #ostomate #spoonielife #ileostomyawareness #ileostomylife #crohnicillness #whatbag #bagforlife #babeswithbags #stoppoobeingtaboo #ulcerativecolitis #ibdlife #spoonie #ostomy #stomalife #getyourbellyout #ibdsuperheroes #sepsissurviour #endthestigma #sickbutinvisble #wearwhatmakesyoufeelgood #therealityofacrohnicillness #aeriereal #bodyconfidence #loveyourself #ostomyinspo

It's almost Halloween so I thought I'd throw back to a blog post from last year with some costume ideas that hide or showcase your ostomy. Link to my blog is in my bio...you might have to scroll a little to get to this one but it's worth it! What are you dressing up as this year? Post a photo and tag me, I'd love to see your costume!

As I’m recovering from my 2 1/2 week stay in hospital there won’t be many fashion posts from me for a while sadly. But to keep myself busy and with Halloween only a few days away I wanted to post a few cool make up photos I took of myself on an app. this isn’t done by me as I can’t draw to save my life let alone apply such detailed make up. So i had fun and experimented with a few spooky looks. I know it’s not really fashion related but I thought it would brighten up my page and something to take my mind off things. I’ve a few I liked so I’ll post one a day in the lead up to Halloween. I think this look is a half sugar skull, but I could be wrong. 🦇🕸🕷🧛🏻‍♂️🧟‍♀️🧟‍♂️🧠👻💀👹#crohnicallyawesome #ostomyfashion #notalldisabilitiesarevisible #ibdawareness #crohnsdisease #ostomate #spoonielife #ileostomyawareness #ileostomylife #crohnicillness #whatbag #bagforlife #babeswithbags #stoppoobeingtaboo #ulcerativecolitis #ibdlife #spoonie #ostomy #stomalife #sepsissurviour #endthestigma #sickbutinvisble #wearwhatmakesyoufeelgood #therealityofacrohnicillness #bodyconfidence #love yourself #happyhalloween

Today’s #ostomyfashionfriday entry has been sent into me by the lovely @glitterygutsx. We got our ostomies a few months apart. Her Jacket is online from a place called Lasula from 2016 collection and the dress is from AX Paris 2017 party collection, tights from asda and shoes from tesco! Thank you for sharing your photo. Ostomy OOTD👌🏽 • Okay I wish I dressed cuter so i could have a nice OOTD for you guys but honestly I’ve this whole week I’ve felt like crap so comfy clothes this pretty much all I’ve been wearing..but if I’m being honestly I’d rather be comfy then feel uncomfortable. • So I’m wearing leggings, a tank top and a big sweatshirt! Which is kinda perfect because it’s finally feeling like fall here in Michigan.❤️ • I hope you guys are having a great day. And if you’re feeling crappy like me, just remember you’re not alone and things will get better!😘 ••• #ostomyootd #loveyourstoma #chronicloveclub #whatbag #ileostomy #ileostomyawareness #ostomy #ostomates #ostomate #ostomybag #ostomate #ostomywarrior #warrior #stoma #chronicillness #chronicpain #hiddenillness #invisvibleillness #girlwithguts #loveyourself #bodypositivity #positivevibes #countyourblessings #nocolonstillrollin #ittakesguts #toddtheostomy #chronicallymotivated #coloplast #spoonie

The dress 💙 I got a message a while back from a fashion student asking what I, an ostomy owner, would want in a dress. ✅ wrap around so can be loose/tight ✅ tie waist at the right - as my bag is on the right (hidden under belt here) ✅ a print to distract from any bumps ✅ maybe a slip under I think I found it. Makes me feel like Janis Joplin lol and that's always the best way to feel. @dancing_leopard has more similar styles too #ostomyfashion #iliostomy #whatbag #colostomy #crohns #chronicillness #invisibleillness #bodypositive #bodyconfidence #dress #girlpower #boho #spiritanimal #70sfashion #70svibe #styleblog #rocknroll #instafashion #healthblog #fashionblog #style #ootn #ootd #eveningwear

Remember last week when I mentioned that patterned skirts are fantastic for disguising your ostomy? That statement stands true even when they're pencil skirts! • Under a skirt like this I like to wear my @ostomysecrets undies because it's minimal under layers and they keep everything slimmed down and smoothed out so well. If you don't own ostomy secrets underwear, have no fear! Spanx or other spandex shorts work pretty well too. • You won't see me in this outfit often because I am always FREEZING inside and I haven't figured out what style of jacket works fashionably with this skirt. But also, I just really love yoga pants.

Pretty stoked on this custom hand made frame bag from @weecog. Not one for advertising but its dope AF and needs a shoutout. Tube, tool, c02, keys and phone all go in with a bit of squishing. #whatbag... Last night at the ostomy conference someone asked me if I had been reversed, made me laugh as I have a Barbie butt, so it's permanent. Going back ten years I never thought it would be possible to wear skinny jeans without noticing the bag but as with a lot of the misconceptions I had created in my head it wasn't true. I know I am lucky and that many still can't wear jeans but know it took me years to find what worked and a bag combo that didn't leak under the pressure and I still empty more frequently when wearing clothes like this, so while it can prove more challenging, for me it's not impossible. #ostomyfashion #ileostomy #ibd #ulcerativecolitis #ostomy #stoma

Two weeks in hospital today. Getting cabin fever and want home to my loved ones. Two weeks ago I was away for my birthday with my partner and I got spasms in my lower back, I couldn’t stand or walk so I had to call him. Then all of a sudden my whole body seized up, hands cramped and folded over into my chest, legs and feet did the same, I couldn’t see very well and my speech was slurred. In my head I thought I was having a stroke. Soon as I felt this happening my partner called the ambulance and stayed with me the whole night in A&E, helped dress me, feed me when I wasn’t able to, he cleaned me up when I soiled myself. I would have been so lost without him and all he’s done for me and my parents. They’ve been up and down to the hospital every day and kept me company. I’ve my own room, bathroom and TV. Just not sleeping great and food is rotten. My team thinks I had a bug which sent me into a flare, also my potassium, calcium and magnesium levels were so low which made my body seize up. All levels are up bar my MG as it keeps dropping when they give it IV so we’re trying to work out why. Soon as that all stabilises I can go home. So for now I just have to try rest the best I can and hope by Monday things will be ok. I couldn’t get through this hard time without my friends, family, parents and my loving partner. #crohnicallyawesome #ostomyfashion #notalldisabilitiesarevisible #ibdawareness #crohnsdisease #ostomate #spoonielife #ileostomyawareness #ileostomylife #crohnicillness #whatbag #bagforlife #babeswithbags #stoppoobeingtaboo #ulcerativecolitis #ibdlife #spoonie #ostomy #stomalife #getyourbellyout #ibdsuperheroes #sepsissurviour #endthestigma #sickbutinvisble #wearwhatmakesyoufeelgood #therealityofacrohnicillness #bodyconfidence #loveyourself
